Call for Entries - Art in the Garden: Plein Air Paint Out

Art Exhibition & Sale, presented by The State Botanical Garden of Georgia & the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF)

Art in the Gardens: Plein Air Paint-Out is a six-day juried painting event for artists to help support The State Botanical Garden of Georgia conservation and education programs and to help promote OCAF’s art initiatives. Participants will create paintings on the grounds of The State Botanical Garden of Georgia from Saturday, June 4 -Thursday, June 9, 2011. The event will culminate with a judged exhibition and sale at the Alice Hand Callaway Visitor Center & Conservatory on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12.

Registration is limited. Fee, $30 which includes three, 8” x 10” stretched canvases. ROSE OF ATHENS THEATRE announces Auditions Auditions for Alice in Wonderland & As You Like It

Auditions are WEDNESDAY February 2, 2011 6:00 PM-9:00 PM

Rose of Athens Theatre is essential to our community, offering high-quality, engaging productions to a wide range of audience members, including a substantial number of schools groups and home school organizations. Also, RoA has provided a creative haven for hundreds of professional teaching artists, actors, artists and musicians since it’s founding in 2006. In addition to main-stage productions, the company also presents workshops to local schools and produces Rose of Athens Theatre Academy, “teaching life skills through stage skills”.

Rose of Athens Theatre has successfully presented the first part of their 5th season with a tour of Frankenstein Lives and a cheerful performance of the Holiday Spirits Tour in partnership with the Athens Historic House Museum Association. Now RoA is looking to cast roles for the fun and colorful productions of Alice in Wonderland and Shakespeare’s fairy-tale comedy As You Like It (“Shakespeare on the Lawn” at Ashford Manor). Alice in Wonderland will be presented in May 2011 and As You Like It will be presented in June 2011.

How can you become a part of such an exciting season and this essential service to area schools? Audition! Auditions for the remainder of Rose of Athens Theatre’s 2010-2011 Season will take place on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 6-9 pm at Seney-Stovall Chapel-201 N. Milledge Avenue (behind the Varsity). Auditions are open to ages 9 to adult. Please prepare two-one minute monologues, one classical piece and one contemporary piece or auditionees may prepare a few bars of music and one monologue. Open Auditions for "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change"


Southside Theatre Guild in downtown Fairburn will hold open auditions on Sunday, January 9 at 2:30 pm and Monday, January 10 at 6:30 pm for the musical, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change". The all-volunteer Southside Theatre Guild will hold non-equity, open auditions for the Musical:
I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE
(Book and Lyrics by Joe DiPietro, Music by Jimmy Roberts, Directed by Philip Maniscalco)

Auditions will be held on Sunday, January 9 at 2:30 pm and Monday, January 10 at 6:30 pm. Appointments are not necessary. Photos will be taken at auditions, so head-shots are not required. You may bring a resume with you to the auditions. The auditions will consist of cold readings, singing and movement.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. The play's tagline is "Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit."

CHARACTER INFO:

Two (2) men and two (2) women (ages 20 to 45) are required for this show and all typically play several other characters. In this production there will be additional actors required as well. There are no roles for children in this play. No pay is offered.

Performances will be: April 14-15-16, 21-22-23, 2011
8 performances: Thursdays - Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm

FCFT will hold open auditions for their Spring Youth Musical~ Willy Wonka, Kids on Saturday, February 5 for ages 8 to 16 years. Saturday, February 5 Ages: 8 t...o 12 at 11:00 a.m. Ages: 13 to 16 at 2:00 p.m. (Call Backs For All roles at 4:00 p.m.) 

*Those auditioning will learn a song from the show and a simple dance combination. Those being considered for speaking roles, will be asked to read from the script.

Open Auditions for "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus"

Southside Theatre Guild in downtown Fairburn will hold non-equity, open auditions for "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" on Monday, Oct. 4th and Tuesday, Oct. 5th. Both nights will begin with a 6:30pm sign-in.

This is a family show, so we welcome families to audition. Ages range from 8 to 80+. This is a large production (17+ men and 8+ women), so there will be lots of opportunities for many.

There will be 8 performances – Dec. 2-5; 9-12, 2010
Thu-Fri-Sat performances at 8:00 pm – Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm

Fayette Senior Services 2010 Apples & ArtFest Exhibitor and Sponsor Opportunities Available

Plans for the second annual Apples & ArtFest are underway. Fayette Senior Services Life Enrichment Center is seeking exhibitors and sponsors for the event, which takes place Saturday, November 13, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Center located at 4 Center Drive in Fayetteville. Proceeds from the event will benefit non-profit Fayette Senior Services.

The 2010 Apples & ArtFest is a charming Fall festival featuring local artisans, crafts and great food. Amateur and professional artists and craftspeople are invited to exhibit at the event. Handcrafted items are given preference. Food vendors including farmer's market and home-baked goods are welcome. This year the Apples & ArtFest will be an indoor event and there is no admission cost to the public.

Deadline for exhibitor registration is October 29. The vendor fee is $30 for an indoor space. Fees must accompany the Exhibitor Application which is available at Fayette Senior Services Life Enrichment Center or online at www.FayetteLifeEnrichment.org.

Sponsorship packages are available for businesses who want to take advantage of being in front of hundreds of festival-goers as well as the additional advertising opportunities that are included with each level of sponsorship. Main Street Players Holds Apparition Applications…

Main Street Theater in Griffin is holding open try-outs (casting) for characters in its ghostly Fall haunted house “The Haunted Theatre on Hill Street II: The Magic Show.”

Those fearless enough, who want to perform in “The Haunted Theater…,” a walk-through, interactive, haunted experience, are invited to come to Main Street Players, 115 North Hill Street, this Saturday, September 11, to try out for “scare-actors” in this frightening, Halloween event.

Casting will be held from 10AM to 2PM.

“The Haunted Theater” requires an assortment of scary creatures guaranteed to “scare the pants off” the innocents who dare to walk through this deserted, haunted theater on Friday, October 22nd thru Saturday, October 30th.
